He obtained his PhD degree from University of Cambridge in 2011. After his PhD, he served as a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia before moving to China-UK Low Carbon College, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2018. His research interests include fundamental combustion, alternative fuels and thermo-chemical conversion technology and gas turbine combustion technology. To date, Dr. Chong has published more than 150 peer-reviewed technical papers.
