Hakan Leblebicioglu is a Professor of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology at Samsun, VM Medicalpark Hospital in Turkey. He is a member of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) Study Group for Infections in Travellers and Migrants (ESGITM). Professor Leblebicioglu serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Annals of Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobials, and he is also a member of the editorial board for Travel Medicine and Infectious Disease. His research interests primarily focus on viral hepatitis, Crimean Congo hemorrhagic fever, and infections in travellers and migrants.

Nick Beeching is Emeritus Professor of Tropical and Infectious Diseases, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and formerly Consultant Physician and Clinical Director of the Tropical and Infectious Disease Unit in Liverpool, UK. Past leadership roles include President of the British Infection Society; Chair, European Board of Infectious Diseases; founding Chairof Steering Committee establishing the UK National Travel Health Network & Centre (NaTHNaC); and codirector of the Liverpool GeoSentinel site. Clinical and research interests include gastrointestinal and neurological infections, zoonoses and emerging and travel related infections. He has published widely including co-editing 4 editions of Lecture Notes: Tropical Medicine.

Professor Eskild Petersen is a Professor Emeritus of infectious diseases, Institute for Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Health Science, Aarhus University, Denmark. He is past chair of the European Society for Infectious Diseases Emerging Infections Task Force, Basel, Switzerland. Professor Petersen worked at the Danish national public health institute, Statens Serum Institut, from 1989 to 2003 with a focus on travel medicine.  He has worked on malaria in travellers, tuberculosis in migrants and have a long standing interest in emerging infections. He was Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Infectious Diseases since 2012 – 2022 and 1999 - 2021 Co-Editor (Moderator) on parasitic diseases. He has edited the popular textbook: “Infectious Disease: a Geographic Guide” now being updated in its 3rd edition.
