Mikolaj Stanek is an Associate Professor (Tenured) at the University of Salamanca, Spain. He holds a PhD in Sociology from the Complutense University of Madrid (2008). He was “Juan de la Cierva” post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Economy, Geography and Demography of the Spanish National Research Council (IEGD-CSIC, Madrid) and Portuguese Foundation for Science and technology post-doctoral researcher at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (Portugal). His research interests include demographic dynamics of immigrant populations, immigrants’ labour market integration and immigrants’ health. His research appeared in several peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Ethnic and Migrations Studies, International Sociology, Research on Aging, European Societies, Journal of Migrant and Minority Health, Globalization and Health.
Sol P. Juárez is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health Sciences at Stockholm University, Sweden. Sol completed her PhD in Sociology in 2011 at the Complutense University of Madrid and the Spanish National Research Council. Following her PhD, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Economic Demography (School of Economics and Management) and the Unit of Social Epidemiology (Faculty of Medicine) at Lund University. Her research primarily focuses on health inequalities and has been published in prestigious journals such as The Lancet Global Health, The Lancet Public Health, JAMA Pediatrics, Nature Communications, and Social Science & Medicine.
Miguel Requena (PhD by Universidad Complutense de Madrid) is Full Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology II-Social Structure, Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, Madrid, Spain, and member of ‘Grupo de Estudios Población y Sociedad’. He began his academic career as an assistant professor at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Among others, he has been visiting Professor at Princeton University and Stanford University. His research interests are demography and sociology of family, social stratification, and international migrations.
