Auteur(s) du livre

Brenda Bogaert is a researcher in medical ethics at the Institute of Humanities in Medicine in Lausanne, Switzerland. During her Ph.D. in philosophy, which was focused on developing a new patient-centered definition of empowerment, she discovered the important role of affects in care, but also the difficulties in having these experiences be acknowledged and understood. Her research and teaching focus since then have centered on both epistemic and affective injustice and how these can be addressed and remedied in both training and care practices. This book is testament to the many fruitful conversations that she has had with healthcare providers, patients, educators, and interdisciplinary scholars on the importance of affects in healthcare.
