Horst H. Geerken lived in Indonesia from 1963 to 1981. In addition to his professional work as Resident Engineer he travelled a large part of Asia during this time and later, often with his long-term partner Annette Bräker.
Horst H. Geerken has published several historical works, including A Gecko for Luck about the Dutch colonial period and the independence struggle in Indonesia. His Hitlers Asian Adventure documents the influence of the Third Reich on independence movements in South-East Asia and India.
