Dr. Roig is professor in risk sciences. He is head of the CHROME laboratory (EA7352) dealing with the characterisation and management of chronic and emerging risks. He was involved in numerous project focussed on the impact of contaminated environment on human population. He was the Scientific Coordinator of the EU funded PHARMAS Project, which assesses the risks to wild animals and humans posed by environmental exposure to pharmaceuticals.
