Esa Jokivuolle specializes on financial stability issues in the Bank of Finland, and also serves as an adjunct professor of finance at Aalto University. In 2012 he was closely involved in the background team assisting Governor Erkki Liikanen when the report by High-level Expert Group on reforming the structure of the EU banking sector (the 'Liikanen report') was being prepared. He has published in several academic journals such as the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis and the Journal of Derivatives, and in books on risk management. He is a member of the Council of Management of The European Money and Finance Forum (SUERF).
