R. Sujatha is a Professor at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. She conducts research in the broad area of algebraic number theory and has authored articles on the algebraic theory of quadratic forms, Iwasawa theory, and the study of motives. Professor Sujatha co-authored the book Cyclotomic Fields and Zeta Values (Springer 2006) with John Coates and has edited two others. She is a fellow of the Indian National Science Academy, the Indian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences, India. Her awards include the ICTP Ramanujan Prize and the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award.
